Helpful suggestion on how to keep things under wraps

Customers frequently call looking for a new turbo blanket or heat shield. These devices keep the heat in the turbo for faster exhaust gas velocity or heat in the exhaust system for the operation of a diesel exhaust scrubber/purifier. Unfortunately, due to asbestos legislation, Perkins no longer offers these. As a result, we have referred people to performance magazines like Car Craft to check the ads for “header wrap” to make a substitute. This involves wrapping a 2″ wide tape around the turbo, or tailpipe, and holding it in place with steel ties. While not as neat as the real thing, this works well enough.

We are now offering turbo/header wrap in a 2” wide roll. This is ideal for someone who needs to ensure that his diesel scrubber is working to its full potential.
