Columbia Gold Mine Chooses Foley  11-13-2007

A customer in South America called us recently. He runs a gold mine in Columbia and with the price of gold going up, his equipment downtime was hurting his profits. He had two Deutz diesel engines, a 912 series and a 413 series that he needed overhauled. Quickly. The problem was that these engines were certified for underground mining application (the W suffix was present) and the correct parts must be identified and used to overhaul these Deutz air-cooled diesels. Because time was of the essence, both Deutz engines were shipped to us by airfreight for immediate remanufacturing. We completed the job on time and under budget, and the Deutz engines were returned to Columbia as dynamometer tested engines ready to reinstall back in the equipment.
