The Perkins 4107/4108/Westerbeke 40 uses as an “air filter” a perforated steel dome on top of the air intake. We have no idea what the Brits were thinking when they designed this. It’s effective in keeping birds out of your Perkins 4107/4108 engine but not much else.
We offer a Walker Airsep that does three things nicely for your 4108. The Walker Air Sep is a washable, cleanable air filter that does what your steel dome doesn’t do. Moreover, because most small diesel noise is the air intake, the Walker Airsep decreases the noise level in the boat by 6 or 7 decibels. Finally, it recycles the unburned fuel back into the oil pan via the dipstick. All in all, a huge step forward in making your marine engine nicer to be around.

The factory has discontinued the very popular Hurth HBW50 (known also as the ZF5) marine gear. We bought the last new units that Hurth will ever make in both the 2:1 and 3:1 ratios. Once they are gone, there will be no more new units. Ever.
