When Johns Hopkins purchased a new 500 KW generator set they wanted to avoid dangerous exhaust fumes, clouds of unburned fuel above the unit and decrease engine noise. Oh, and also save money! So they came to Foley. On the air intake side of the engine we installed a Walker Air Sep to recycle unburned fuel back into the oil pan to decrease the smell of diesel fuel and decrease the engine noise. On the exhaust end we equipped the unit with one of our diesel exhaust scrubbers to make the diesel exhaust safe to breathe. The staff and students find this new generator very easy to live with.
