Foley Presents Seminar on ZF/Hurth Marine Transmissions at the International Yacht Restoration School. 2011-3-30. Phil George, our Service Manager, presented a half day seminar today at the International Yacht Restoration School in Newport, RI. He discussed the maintenance and overhaul of ZF/Hurth marine transmissions including the ZF6, ZF10, ZF15, ZF25, and ZF25 vee drive. During his presentation at the IYRS he showed the students how to open the Hurth's aluminum case and disassemble the mechanical marine transmission, inspect it for wear, measure the wearing components, the use of a 55 ton hydraulic press to remove the gears, the installation of an overhaul parts kit, and then reassembly and testing.
