Dr. Diesel Tech Tips
As engine professionals, we feel an obligation to share our knowledge with our customers and other engine pros. To do so we publish an ongoing series of “Tech Tips” designed to help you keep your Perkins, Deutz, Deere, or Continental engine up and running, your Hurth marine transmission last longer, your Rockford/Twin Disc PTO to function better, or your exhaust scrubber/purifier to clean more air.
We share in writing these Tech Tips and try to do one or two a month. These Tech Tips have evolved over the years but they stay constant in their goal of communicating our knowledge to our customers and our fellow engine pros.
Dr Diesel welcomes your comments and suggestions. |
Dr. Diesel Shop Kinks
As engine professionals we feel an obligation to share our knowledge with our customers and other engine pros. This series of tech suggestions, Dr Diesel's “Shop Kinks,” is written in a casual and informal style.
Our Shop Kinks tend to be less intensive than our Tech Tips series and are aimed at the person working on his own diesel engine, power takeoff, or marine transmission. Nothing in these Shop Kinks is rocket science but they may help someone out of a jam. Dr Diesel writes these on his kitchen table on Sunday mornings while drinking Mrs. Diesel's strong coffee.
He may choose a topic in response to a customer's question such as "How can I maintain my Hurth gear" or "How Do I remove/adjust the valves on a Perkins diesel". Other Shop Kinks are based on things we've worked out in our shop and just want to share. He would appreciate any and all feedback and will send a Dr. Diesel coffee cup to anyone with a suggestion. |
